Frequently Asked Questions

Minimum order, lead time, keying, samples, certification and payment terms — answered properly.

The questions we answer most often, with real numbers rather than “please contact us”.

Ordering

One carton per model and finish. Carton quantities vary by collection — 6 pcs for handlesets, 20–24 pcs for lever locks, 30–40 pcs for knob locks, 50 pcs for hinges. Mixed cartons of different models or finishes can be arranged for a first or trial order; just say so in your enquiry.
For catalogue models in standard finishes, 30–45 days from deposit. For OEM packaging, add 30–45 days from artwork approval. For new ODM tooling, allow 45–60 days to T1 samples plus your approval cycle before series production starts. Lead times run from the later of deposit receipt and final artwork or sample approval.
Yes, and we recommend it. Samples of catalogue models are supplied at unit price plus freight, and the sample cost is credited against your first production order. Physical finish samples are free to trade enquiries.
30% deposit with order, balance against a copy of the bill of lading, is standard. L/C at sight is accepted above an agreed order value. For long-running programmes we will discuss open account terms after a track record is established.
FOB, CIF and DDP are all routine. Prices are quoted ex-works Zhongshan unless you specify otherwise. Tell us the destination port or the delivery address and we will quote the landed option.

Product & specification

ET (entrance) for front and secondary entrance doors, BK (privacy) for bedrooms and bathrooms, PS (passage) for doors that latch but never lock, ST (storeroom) where a key is required every time, DL (dummy) for fixed trim. Full definitions are on the Ordering Guide page.
60 mm and 70 mm — the two sizes that cover almost every market. Most locksets ship with an adjustable latch that covers both, so if you are unsure, order the adjustable version and set it on site.
35–45 mm for handlesets, knob locks, deadbolts and pocket door locks; 35–50 mm for heavy and light-duty lever locks. Outside those ranges we supply longer spindles and screws — mention it at the enquiry stage as it is a different pack.
Yes. Every collection sits on one cylinder platform, so a handleset, a deadbolt, a knob lock and a lever lock can all be keyed alike across a door or a whole building. Master key and grand master systems are available in all four keyway profiles.
Kwikset, Weiser, Yale and Schlage profiles. Private keyways for OEM programmes are available on request.
Most lever locks are reversible on site without tools, which is why RV is our default handing. Handlesets with a shaped grip and some lever designs are hand-specific — state LH or RH for those.

Quality & certification

ISO 9001:2015 (certificate no. 130590, valid to 17 June 2027, NQA/UKAS), ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Series 4000 Grade 2 and A156.5 Grade 2, CE to EN 12209:2003+A1:2005 and EN 1906:2012 Category 3, and EN 1935 Grade 11 for hinges.
Finish durability is tested to ASTM B117: 96 hours for plated finishes (SN, SC, CP, SS), 48 hours for coated finishes (MB, ORB, WHP) and 24 hours for living brass finishes (PB, AB, AC). Salt spray hours rank finishes against each other — they are not a life expectancy in years.
Five years on mechanical operation, two years on plated and coated finishes, from date of shipment. A lifetime cylinder and key warranty is available on request for residential installations.
Yes — in person or through a third-party agency such as SGS, BV or Intertek. Where an agency is used, agree the inspection standard and AQL before production starts so there is nothing to argue about later.

OEM & ODM

Yes. OEM covers your packaging and inserts, laser-marked or stamped logo, private keyway, your model numbering and your barcodes, on an existing certified platform. Typical timeline from artwork approval to first shipment is 30–45 days.
Yes — that is an ODM programme. We handle DFM feedback, zinc-alloy die-cast tooling, T1 samples with a dimensional report and any market certification. Territory exclusivity is agreed in writing before tooling is cut.
You do, once it is paid for. We store it free of charge, maintain it during normal production and return it within 30 days of a written request. It is never run for another account.
Yes, before you send any files — on our paper or yours.
